Have a yard sale find or side table buried in the basement that can be repurposed? Also, consider this project using a large tray or other table top.
EASY INSTRUCTIONS:
- Clean the item thoroughly. You may need to scrub with a metal brush or lightly sand to remove an old finish.
- Paint (spray paint or brush) the item red, white or blue and let it dry completely.
- Transfer the ICON images using any method you choose. An easy way to transfer images can be found on my post on making beach signs.
- Paint the ICON image(s) and let dry.
- Add a clear coat finish to seal.

Paint in colors of your choice. Once dried, distress with sandpaper, if you prefer the weathered look. For added texture wrap the apron of the table with thick rope. Attach with finish nails or glue.
